| I'm glad you started streaming to PBBans, but something isn't working right and perhaps you should check a couple of settings on your account page on their site. Whenever I join the Crypt server, I see a PBBans welcome message, so you're definitely streaming to them, but their bans aren't enforced for some reason. Today sonovharley was on your server and he's using a pbguid that is banned by PBBans. He shouldn't be able to play on any server that streams but he can still play on yours. This is the message you see when he joins: - Code:
-
2012-07-17 09:01:15 : High Command: |PBBans.com| Enforced a prior ban for 'sonovharley' (5a7063a2) He is recognized as someone using a banned key but he doesn't get kicked and he is still able to play on your server. We had enough sensible players on the server to get a kick vote passed and that took care of him, but he shouldn't be able to join in the first place. I'm not sure what the actual reason is, but please check if the "enforce MBi Bans" option is enabled on your account page on PBBans. If you have any questions about this, please ask! | is PBBans behind the odd messages on the server? granted i havent played in awhile ( yes br8kaway am still playing with my level 50 paladin- geez get over it ) after completing an objective it would say **##-letters (*&((* completed the objective or captured the spawn.. never seen that before..!! just curious.. since i believe the only change to the server since i left was streaming to PBBans, right. ?

he was on tonight- spec'd him for 5 minutes.. no way hes hacking,, so me and BR8k let him play-- so whatever his offence is, its not ruining the game play of others.. that's just my opinion.. if other members disagree - then am sure we'll ban him ..

that's just my opinion.. if other members disagree - then am sure we'll ban him .. That is up to you of course. I just wanted to draw to your attention that there is probably something wrong with the way the streaming is configured and if it doesn't stop him from joining, it probably won't stop others either. The second thing I wanted to say is that it is unwise to spec someone if you want to figure out if he's using a hack or something like that. For reasons best known to the developers, the server tells a client that someone is speccing him and who is speccing, and bot makers can make use of this information. If I would write a bot, I'd disable it automatically the moment someone would start speccing the bot user. Dr. Funkenstein |

I'll contact you later today through a PM, I'll try to make some screenshots etc. The one you posted looks pretty similar to what we have btw. Dr. Funkenstein |

| Update PbBans July 27, 2012
After speaking with our host of 3 years about our options (all which involves us moving to another datacenter), we have decided to move and go with another host in Chicago. We hope the servers will be shipped within the next few days. We will have more control and better options to deal with DDoS attacks there plus our operation costs will be lower.
July 26, 2012
As some are already aware PBBans is currently under multiple DDoS attacks which are targeting our web and hub servers. We are working to get them back online as soon as possible. Should you have any questions or need support, you can join our IRC at #pbbans on QuakeNet.

| PBBans seems to be working again.
We had to add the new server IP to the account, it's waiting for approval, and I guess you'll have to do the same because of the transition from Chicago to Dallas. It doesn't take too long usually so I hope we'll be streaming to them again pretty soon.

| I haven't been able to get us streaming to PBBans again. Any luck on your part?
One thing I noticed is that the instructions on their site for doing it manually with rcon are outdated since they still contain the old IP address. I got a mail from them with the current IP addresses, you probably got one too. I tried to use those, but that didn't help.
